Eastman & Smith Welcomes Shawn Turner

Eastman & Smith Ltd. is pleased to announce that Shawn M. Turner has joined the firm as an associate in the Business Law Practice Group. Mr. Turner has worked with public and private companies in all phases of their development. Mr. Turner focuses his practice on advising boards of directors of public and private companies, mergers and acquisitions, senior and mezzanine lending transactions, and state and federal securities law and general corporate governance and compliance matters. Mr. Turner has assisted clients in a variety of industries, including banking and financial services, oil and gas, health care, food retail, biotechnology and internet technology.

Mr. Turner received his B.A. in economics from Hanover College, Hanover, Indiana in 2000. Mr. Turner received his J.D. magna cum laude from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and his M.B.A from Case Westerns Weatherhead School of Management, in 2004.

Prior to joining Eastman & Smith, Mr. Turner worked for international law firms in Columbus, Ohio and Denver, Colorado. Mr. Turner a member of the Findlay/Hancock County Bar Association, Ohio State (member, Corporation Law Committee Limited Liability Company Sub-Committee), Colorado and American (member, Business Law section) Bar Associations. Mr. Turner has presented and written articles on various subjects, including board of director fiduciary duties, poison pills and other anti-takeover protections, material adverse change clauses, appraisal remedies for minority shareholders and anti-money laundering regulations.
